What is the Difference between Bellcore, Telcordia, and NEBS Testing??
They are actually are the same for AT&T's Central Services Organization became Bell Co mmunications Re search, Inc. (Bellcore), which was formed in 1984 as a direct result of the AT&T divestiture. Bellcore developed the Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) criteria. In 1997, Bellcore was acquired by SAIC which in turn was bought by Telcordia Technologies Inc. Due to the interchangabiltiy by people, all three names are people

Verizon Certified ITL
Garwood Laboratories Inc has been accepted as a Verizon Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL). This now allows Garwood Labs to test products for submittal to Verizon for Telcordia NEBS GR-63-CORE and GR-1089-CORE test programs. Garwood is now proud to be among a mere handful of test laboratories in the country approved by Verizon for testing telecom products for utilization in Verizon networks.
When Evaluation Engineering decided to focus their June 2001 issue on NEBS/ Telecommunications testing, they approached Garwood labs for help in writing for the issue. They also asked that Don Bennett, Garwood NEBS/Telecommunications testing manager, to write a primer on the subject for this issue.
"Garwood Laboratories truly understands the time-to-market issues involved with environmental certification of telecommunications products, particularly the NEBS (Network Equipment Building Systems) specifications. The management and testing effort that Garwood put forth throughout the program kept Luminous well informed of status, and was essential in completing the NEBS level 3 requirements successfully."
Michael Lee, P.E. (Central Engineering Manager, Luminous Networks)
"Garwood Labs was instrumental in helping us get our equipment approved for distribution in the telecommunications market. Their service was second to none, and their ability to help us with our foreign approvals was outstanding. I would highly recommend Garwood for any and all telecommunications compliance issues."
